Fluffy chocolate frosting

This is a terrific frosting for the Devil's food cake. It's also quick and easy, completed in under 15 minutes.

Stand mixer, although a hand-held mixer can be used
Variations
• Use orange extract instead of vanilla extract.
Storage
• This is best made right before you frost the cake.
Fluffy chocolate icing
Ingredients
1 1/2 sticks of butter, at room temperature
2 cups confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 ounces semisweet chocolate, melted and cooled slightly
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled slightly
Instructions
• Beat the butter until light and fluffy. With the motor running, add the confectioners' sugar a little at a time until it is light and fluffy.
• Add the vanilla extract. Mix.
• Add the melted chocolate. Mix thoroughly. Turn the mixer on high and beat until light and fluffy.
• Put about one tablespoon of the frosting on the bottom of your cake plate to hold the cake in place. Add one cake layer. Add a light coating to the top and sides of one cake layer. Add the second cake layer and repeat. Add the final cake layer and spread with the remaining frosting.
